Semi-arid Homestead Resilience (Hybrid: Online/Portugal)

$0.00

Semi-arid Homestead Resilience

Invest in your land, your family, and your community's resilience.

Our hybrid model allows you to join calls from the comfort of your home and then meet your fellow participants on a Permaculture site in Portugal for the final practical modules of the course.

This course focuses on rainwater harvesting, passive solar design, and perennial food security. The online portion of this course will emphasize the theory, methods, and equations pertinent to home-scale solutions to climate change in semi-arid regions. The Portugal portion will emphasize the practical application of these solutions. Participants will have the opportunity to present ideas for the Portugal site, and if approved by the site owner, they may be implemented on the site during the practical portion of this course.

Resilience does not happen independently; this course will also guide us through social permaculture and what resilience looks like as a community. Alfred Decker, Permaculture designer and educator, will lead the discussion on social permaculture!

This course is for individuals who have completed a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) or who desire to focus on homescale ecological design for a semi-arid context.
